Applications

We have listed some application examples below.

Citizen terminals

OMC systems are used as citizen terminals, for example for town houses and town halls. There they are in public areas such as the foyer or entrance area and serve visitors as a self-service system for various online functions of public administration. Especially in connection with digitization and electronic identity cards, citizen services are possible faster and more efficiently. OMC also offers convenient operation for visitors with disabilities by adjusting the height of the keyboard and touch / screen.

Cash terminals

For museums and exhibitions, OMC terminals serve as information and cash register systems for visitors. Current information and event notices are also displayed there. These outdoor systems are characterized by a robust structure, which makes them largely resistant to vandalism. All electronic components are securely integrated in the steel housing.

Check-In Terminals Thousands of containers are handled every day in ports. This requires precise and error-free coordination of the means of transport used - container ship, loading crane, truck.

As an interface to truck traffic, OMC terminals support users in fast and smooth processing through tailor-made hardware and software solutions.

Terminals for job search

Here OMC terminals are used to search for jobs. Job seekers can independently search, filter and check job vacancies and have the appropriate offers printed out on an A4 thermal printer. The daily updated software ensures a precise and exact job search. This service is available in all employment agencies in Switzerland. The systems are installed in semi-supervised rooms, so all system components are integrated in a protected and closed metal housing. The well thought-out system concept nevertheless guarantees quick and easy maintenance.

Tourist information

OMC terminals are also used for tourist information. Visitors and interested parties can find out about suitable gastronomy offers, overnight accommodation or other attractions and have them displayed over a large area. Information can be transmitted interactively via the LCD graphics or audio output.

Card issuing machine

OMC terminals can also be used for very special tasks and applications. In this application example, OMC terminal systems are operated as card issuing machines. The student ID cards used as standard today are printed plastic cards with a personal picture and corresponding study information. The photo is taken directly in front of the device with a camera and special software. A specially developed image processing and printer software then provides the appropriate graphics and print output. At the end of the process, the printed plastic card is output and can be removed from the output tray.

Museumsterminal

OMC also offers powerful and visually appealing terminal solutions for museums and exhibitions. These are designed as interactive systems, so that the motto and the museum's intention can be actively experienced. Input is via touch or keyboard, the LCD ensures the corresponding output of the information, whether as a stand-alone system in the room or as a wall mounting solution - OMC offers the right solution. In this segment in particular, the solutions are implemented customer-specifically, the advantage here is that OMC can fall back on a large variety of products and systems of the basic systems.

Challenge

There is a lot of commitment behind every successful product development. The development of a successful product requires not only intuition, but also research, planning, reflection, profiling and much more. These examples show that OMC can respond to very special customer requests and projects. Every new product development that OMC is confronted with represents a new challenge which OMC masters.
